Data Outlet Admin - 2. Data outlet admin menu
By selecting Admin via the homepage of Data Outlet you get into the Admin menu. This section is only available for users with the appropriate access rights.
This menu provides the admininistrator the possibility to:
- Create or delete users
- Create and allocate user rights
- Create simple forms
- Maintain various settings in Data Outlet and Salesmapp
- Post notices on the bulletin board
In the following sections these possibilities will be explained in more detail.
2.1 General Admin Functions
Using >> and >> | you can respectively browse one page forward or go to the last page. Using | <<, or << you respectively browse to the last page or one page back.
By clicking on the blue icon the current Data Outlet page will open in a separate internet window which always has a scroll beam at the botoom for easier navigation.
With a filter you are able to show a section of a table. Especially for tables with many records, a filter can be useful. In the example below a filter is applied, selecting the item numbers 50 up to 100 and where the description contains the word 'product'. You can also filter only on a number or description by just filling in one item.
In a filter multiple options can be selected by pressing ctrl+mouseclick or shift+mouseclick. In the example below the appointments will be filtered on appointments accepted by Ilse van der Berg or Jasper Retera, and only "visits", and "phone calls" will be shown.
Data in columns with black headers can be sorted in descending and ascending order by clicking on the headers.
You can easily add a new line to tables by going to the last line, fill in the open fields and click "Add".
Using the button "New" you can add another line to tables as well.
Please note; Avoid using "strange characters" such as quotes ("), single quotes ('), slashes (/ or \), semicolon (;), etc. in the description. These characters can cause problems when exporting data.
To edit an existing item, click on the red colored code or description in the first column. Then you can change the values, click on "Update" to save your changes. Items that you cannot change remain grey, as shown in the example below.
In case you edit something that has impact on already saved data, for instance the description of an article, you will be asked if you also want to edit the historically saved data.
you can delete data.
2.2 Synchronization Data Outlet – Salesmapp
There is a two way synchronization running between Data Outlet and Salesmapp. This means that all data saved registered using Salesmapp can be seen in Data Outlet and vice versa. The only expetion to this rule are orders these are only synchronized from Salesmapp to Data Outlet but not the other way around.
As a general rule all data entered in one system should be visible in the other after ten minutes.
